Italy inaugurates new municipal nursery schools in Mozzagrogna and Perugia

New municipal nursery schools have been inaugurated in Mozzagrogna and Perugia, funded in part by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (Pnrr).

In Mozzagrogna, the “Il giardino di Marzia” facility is set to accommodate 20 children aged 3 to 36 months. The project was supported by a 480,000 euro Pnrr grant and features sustainable design, ergonomic furniture, and outdoor education spaces. Mayor Domenico Cianfrone described the facility as a strategic investment to support family-work balance and community growth.

In Perugia, the “Kosmos” nursery in Case Bruciate has opened, providing capacity for up to 90 children. The project cost approximately 3.025 million euros, utilizing both municipal funds and Pnrr resources. The energy-efficient building includes five sections, dormitories, and specialized activity areas. Despite construction delays following a contract termination with the initial contractor, the facility replaces a previously degraded building and is viewed by local officials as a vital piece of community infrastructure.
