Italy increases immigration enforcement with dozens of expulsions

Italian law enforcement has intensified efforts to monitor and enforce immigration regulations. Since June, the Immigration Office has issued 18 border rejection orders and 54 expulsion orders.

In Reggio Calabria, 18 border rejections were issued following a landing at the port on October 5. Among those processed were two Turkish nationals who had previously served prison sentences for aiding illegal immigration, and a Georgian citizen facing charges for multiple thefts. One individual with a history of crimes against property and persons was transferred to the Bari Repatriation Center.

In Salerno, authorities completed the expulsion of two individuals from Senegal and Gambia. The Salerno Police Headquarters executed the orders following administrative checks that confirmed the individuals lacked legal residency requirements.
