Italy infrastructure and coastal protection projects underway
Various infrastructure and environmental protection projects are progressing across different regions in Italy.
In Atri, construction has begun on the SP 27 road between Santa Margherita and Casoli to address ground instability. The project is being carried out by ANAS following coordination with the Province of Teramo. A second phase of the intervention, near the Fontanelle intersection, has been allocated 250,000 euros by the Province to ensure road safety.
In Santarcangelo, works to secure the Sferisterio walls and Via Pio Massani are nearing completion. The municipality has secured an additional 300,000 euros from the post-flood reconstruction commission to specifically redo the stone paving on Via Massani, allowing previously budgeted funds to be redirected to other maintenance tasks.
In Rimini, excavators are working to build winter dunes along the coastline from the port canal area to Piazzale Benedetto Croce. Coordinated by the Regional Agency for Territorial Security and Civil Protection, these dunes serve as a barrier against storm surges and act as a strategic sand reserve to combat coastal erosion during the spring replenishment season.
