Italy initiatives promote awareness against violence against women

Various initiatives in Italy are being organized to combat violence against women and promote gender equality. The AiCS national mixed padel tournament, ‘Parete di Genere’, is scheduled for November 28, 2026. This fifth edition involves simultaneous matches across Italy to raise awareness, with a portion of participant fees being donated to a domestic violence center.

In Trieste, a ‘Red Bench’ has been inaugurated in the Melara district as a symbol of memory and civic commitment for victims of violence. Promoted by Ater Trieste and supported by the Municipality of Trieste’s Equal Opportunities Commission, the bench features the ‘Non sei sola’ campaign message and the national anti-violence helpline number, 1522. The installation aims to provide a visible sign of solidarity, particularly within the local community and among the Ukrainian women's association residing in the area.
