Italy intensifies cybersecurity push ahead of NIS2 deadline

Italian firms are preparing for the EU NIS2 directive as the Cyber Resilience Summit 2026, organized by Logos Technologies in Montebelluna, gathered more than 100 tech leaders to stress the shift from mere compliance to proactive, measurable cyber defence. Participants highlighted the need to map risks, secure supply chains and invest in human‑factor training, while also discussing emerging threats from AI and the upcoming transition to post‑quantum cryptography.

At the same time, Stefania Ranzato, founder of the cybersecurity firm Deas, warned that Italy accounts for 9.6% of global cyber attacks, disproportionately targeting essential services such as health, transport and banking. She called for stronger offensive capabilities, continuous research and the development of skilled personnel to preserve national autonomy and improve overall resilience.
