Italy joins El Salvador's Labor Migration Program
El Salvador is expanding its Labor Migration Program to include Italy as a new destination for workers. Labor Minister Rolando Castro announced that an initial group of approximately 100 specialists and technicians will soon depart for Italy under this initiative.
The program is being implemented in coordination with Fondazione Horizzonti. Selected participants underwent nearly a year of preparation, which included Italian language training and interview sessions. The initiative aims to promote circular, safe, and orderly migration, providing formal employment opportunities abroad.
To ensure the protection of workers' rights while in Italy, the Ministry of Labor is working in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. This expansion follows previous diplomatic efforts and memorandums of understanding aimed at facilitating recruitment in sectors such as agriculture, commerce, and professional services.
