Italy Launches 2026 Youth Fire Service Camps for Teens
The Italian government has opened applications for the “Giovani in azione: in campo con i Vigili del Fuoco” youth camps, targeting 15‑ to 17‑year‑olds. The week‑long programmes will run in two sessions in July 2026 (5‑11 July and 12‑18 July) at seven locations across the country: Borgo San Dalmazio (Cuneo), Bellaria Igea Marina (Rimini), Foligno, Rome, Bari, Trapani and Olbia (Sassari).
The initiative is a joint effort of the Department for Youth Policies, the Universal Civil Service of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, and the Ministry of the Interior, aiming to promote safety culture, civic responsibility and teamwork. Selection will consider academic merit (average grades for the 2024‑2026 school years) and family economic status measured by the ISEE indicator, with extra points for families whose ISEE is below €20,000. Seats are allocated regionally in proportion to the resident student population. Applications can be submitted online until 4 June 2026, with forms and details available on the official Vigili del Fuoco and Youth Policies websites.
