Italy launches 'Circolo 65' program to promote active aging

The Italian government has issued a public call for the “CIRCOLO 65” project, aimed at encouraging physical activity among people aged 65 to 99. The initiative is coordinated by the Ministry for Sport and Youth together with the Ministry of Health and the Ministry for the Family, and is managed by Sport e Salute S.p.A. It seeks proposals from amateur sports clubs, third‑sector sport entities and other local organisations to develop adapted motor‑skill programmes that foster healthy, active ageing and improve physical, mental and social well‑being.

Applicants must form partnerships of at least three legally‑based entities located in the project area, and can include the municipality of Ragusa. Proposals are to be submitted online by 16:00 on 18 September 2026. An informational webinar for prospective applicants will be held on 3 September 2026.
