Italy launches creative lab for neurodivergent youth and regional autism affectivity conference

The Fondazione "Un Futuro per l'Asperger" is establishing a creative‑digital laboratory to help young neurodivergent people develop professional skills, build portfolios and gain work autonomy. UniCredit will allocate €5,000 to the first 20 non‑profit organisations that raise the most donations, supporting the lab’s operational costs.

In Catania, a regional conference titled “Affettività e sessualità nel progetto di vita” was held under the Give Care project. Hosted by local cooperatives and backed by the Sicilian Region, university and health authorities, the meeting brought together officials, health workers, academics and families to discuss the affective and sexual rights of people on the autism spectrum. Speakers highlighted rising autism diagnoses, the need for lifelong services, and the new “project of life” model that places personal desires and autonomy at the centre of care.

Both initiatives aim to improve inclusion, autonomy and wellbeing for autistic individuals across Italy.
