Italy launches digital transformation vouchers for SMEs
Italian authorities have announced new funding initiatives to support the digital transformation of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and self-employed professionals.
The Ministry for Made in Italy (MIMIT) is launching the 2026 Cloud & Cybersecurity Voucher. This program offers non-repayable grants covering up to 50% of eligible expenses, with a maximum of 30,000 euros per beneficiary. The funds are intended for cloud computing services, cybersecurity solutions, data migration, and disaster recovery. Applications can be submitted via Invitalia from October 20, 2026, to January 20, 2027. To qualify, service providers must meet specific European standards or hold recognized certifications such as ISO/IEC 27001.
In the Lazio region, local authorities have allocated 15 million euros for a similar digitalization voucher program aimed at micro, small, and medium enterprises operating within the territory. This initiative follows a previous three-year investment of 34 million euros. The regional funds target projects involving digital workplace solutions, e-commerce adoption, cloud migration, and enhanced cybersecurity to boost local productivity and competitiveness.
