Autostrade Alto Adriatico to freeze tolls until 2029

Autostrade Alto Adriatico has announced that motorway tolls will remain unchanged at least until 2029. This decision was part of the updated 2025-2029 economic and financial plan approved by the company's shareholders in Trieste.

The plan outlines total investments of 1.888 billion euros through 2053. A significant portion of these funds is earmarked for the completion of the third lane on the A4 motorway (Venice-Trieste), extraordinary maintenance, and the reconstruction of bridges and viaducts to ensure network safety.

Separately, the Italian government is implementing new social welfare measures. A new housing support contribution for separated or divorced parents has launched via a digital platform from the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport. This measure, with a total three-year budget of 60 million euros, aims to assist parents who do not have custody of the family home and face economic difficulties.

Additionally, a new transport bonus, known as the ‘Conto di mobilità’, is set to replace existing vouchers starting in 2027. This initiative, part of the Social Climate Plan, will provide a digital credit of up to 400 euros per year to commuters, students, and low-income families to mitigate the impact of rising costs associated with the European ETS2 system.
