Italy launches initiatives to support students with ADHD
New educational and collaborative initiatives are being implemented in Italy to support students with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and promote school inclusion.
In Pordenone, the SpazioPonte project has been introduced to provide temporary spaces for students experiencing behavioral crises. Supported by the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region, the project aims to offer targeted educational responses to prevent social needs from escalating into clinical health issues. By creating a network between schools, local institutions, and the third sector, the initiative seeks to facilitate a stable return to the classroom and prevent school exclusion.
In Verona, the University of Verona hosted a conference titled ‘Families and School. Together for Inclusion’ to strengthen the support network for ADHD students. The event focused on fostering dialogue between families and educational institutions, integrating scientific research with clinical and educational expertise. Data from the ‘Sportellinclusione Verona’ network indicated a growing trend in demand for support, having handled 91 requests over the past year.
