Italy launches migrant support and labor rights initiatives

Various initiatives in Italy are addressing the integration and rights of migrants through religious and labor-focused programs.

In Verona, the Diocese of Verona is organizing events to mark the World Day of Migrants and Refugees. These activities include a meeting with Flaminia Vola from the Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development to discuss migration challenges and the inauguration of a new headquarters for the Center for Migrant Pastoral Care. The program also features the opening of Missionary October to share experiences of local hospitality.

In Parma, the CGIL union is launching the fourth edition of a basic training course for migrant workers. Held at the Camera del Lavoro, the free sessions cover essential topics such as employment contracts, payslips, workplace safety, parental support, and social security. The course aims to provide recent migrants with the necessary skills to understand their rights and navigate the local labor market.
