Italy launches National Network of 20th-Century Foundation Cities

Italy has officially established the National Network of 20th-Century Foundation Cities (Rete Nazionale delle Città di Fondazione). The signing ceremony took place in Alghero, attended by the Minister of Labour and Social Policies, Marina Calderone, alongside local officials including Mayor Raimondo Cacciotto and Council President Mimmo Pirisi.

The network aims to promote 20th-century architecture and protect the material and immaterial heritage of communities established through labor and land reclamation projects. These cities are recognized for their history of social transformation and their role in integrating diverse communities, including Istrian-Dalmatian exiles.

Participating municipalities include Alghero, Latina, Tresignana, Arborea, Carbonia, Guidonia Montecelio, Pomezia, Pontinia, Predappio, Sabaudia, and Torviscosa.
