Italy launches new free training programs for caregiving professionals

Various training initiatives are being launched in Italy to address the growing demand for caregiving and social assistance professionals.

In Rivoli, Sage Formazione is offering a free 260-hour course for multipurpose assistants in welfare and socio-educational facilities. Funded by the Piedmont Region, the program is designed for unemployed or inactive individuals registered under Law 68/99. The curriculum includes 168 classroom hours and 90 hours of practical internships, covering environmental hygiene, workplace safety, and socio-educational animation.

Additionally, the Gallarate-based agency Family Care has opened enrollment for free training courses for aspiring home caregivers. A notable feature of this program is the inclusion of a module on narrative medicine, an approach recognized by the Istituto Superiore di Sanità. This methodology uses the life stories and memories of patients to strengthen the relationship between the caregiver and the elderly. The agency aims to provide updated tools for managing various levels of psycho-physical self-sufficiency while addressing the needs of Italy’s aging population.
