Calabria launches affective education project in schools

The Calabria Region and the Regional School Office have signed an agreement to extend an affective education project to secondary schools for the upcoming academic year. The initiative, titled ‘Quel ballo lì’, is designed to raise awareness and reduce the phenomenon of femicide.

Funded with 300,000 euros, the project allows operators from anti-violence centers to access schools throughout the region. This is part of a larger three-year plan for 2026-2028 valued at 6.5 million euros. The broader plan includes 452,000 euros for school-based violence prevention, over 1.5 million euros for victim protection through third-sector involvement, and more than 4.3 million euros to support women's professional and personal autonomy. Additionally, the region plans to establish seven new anti-violence centers to supplement the 13 currently active.
