Italy launches simplified online tax filing system for 730 and 2026 returns
From 2024, Italy's pre‑filled 730 tax return is offered in a guided online mode that displays data by section—income, expenses, property—and lets taxpayers correct or add entries before the system automatically compiles the form and calculates the tax due. The filing can be submitted electronically by 30 September.
The 2026 Modello Redditi for individuals also details how to compute the 2025 balance and the first 2026 advance of INPS contributions for artisans, merchants, the Separate Management and other self‑employed categories. Taxpayers may choose a historical method, a forecast method or, for those under the Biennial Preventive Settlement, an agreed‑income basis. The article lists contribution rates, thresholds and the requirement to pay advances in two equal installments, warning that errors can lead to sanctions.
Both updates aim to make the filing process more transparent and reduce the need for professional assistance.
