Italy launches summer education programmes for children

A nationwide environmental education project, Summer Steel Game, was unveiled by RICREA and Eduiren to teach steel‑packaging recycling through quizzes, digital missions and team challenges. The free programme, open to summer centres, grests and associations across Italy, begins on 22 June and includes the board‑game “Crea la tua pista!”. RICREA President Domenico Rinaldini said the initiative aims to turn “young people into ambassadors of responsible behaviour”.

In the town of Biella, the primary school at Villaggio Lamarmora opened its 2026 summer centre on 16 June for about 40 children. The camp, titled “My first passport as a citizen”, combines games, workshops and outdoor outings to promote citizenship, road safety, nutrition, sportsmanship, environmental care and inclusion. Local officials, including Education Assessor Livia Caldesi, highlighted the focus on learning through play and community participation.
