Italy launches vocational packaging training and environmental education programs
Italy is launching two distinct educational initiatives focused on sustainability and professional development.
The second edition of ‘Ripartiamo dal Packaging’ begins on October 8. Promoted by the Fondazione Carta Etica del Packaging in collaboration with the Ministry of Justice and ENIP-GCT, the project provides 70 hours of technical training to selected inmates. The curriculum covers pre-press, printing, and packaging assembly to prepare participants for professional roles. The program aims to facilitate social reintegration by connecting trainees with companies for internships or employment, supported by existing tax and social security incentives for hiring former inmates.
Simultaneously, the 14th edition of ‘Green Game’ has launched to promote circular economy and waste sorting themes in Italian schools. Sponsored by several national packaging recycling consortia, including BIOREPACK, CIAL, COMIECO, COREPLA, COREVE, and RICREA, the initiative offers free interactive educational activities. The program includes an in-person tour through Tuscany and digital sessions across Italy, culminating in a national final to crown a champion school.
