Italy lifts water safety bans in Marina di Palo and Mondello
Authorities in Italy have lifted recent restrictions on water usage in two separate regions following successful safety tests.
In Ladispoli, the drinking water in the Marina di Palo area is once again considered potable. Following a new microbiological assessment by ARPA Lazio, the ASL Roma 4 confirmed that water samples from the ‘Braccio di Mare’ aqueduct met all regulatory standards. The municipal administration has revoked the previous non-potability ordinance, which affected several streets including Via del Corallo and Lungomare Marina di Palo. Officials suggested the previous non-compliance may have been due to localized contamination or improper use of public fountains.
In Palermo, the ban on swimming in the waters of Mondello has also been lifted. Reports from the ASP di Palermo indicated that bacterial levels have returned to normal parameters. While the municipality is proceeding with the revocation of the bathing ban, health officials stated that monitoring will continue to identify the original cause of the bacterial spike and prevent future occurrences.
