Italy live music sector reaches 4.3 billion euro economic impact

The live music industry in Italy generated an estimated 4.3 billion euros in economic impact during 2025, according to a study conducted by the University of Pisa for AssoConcerti. The research, presented to the Ministry of Culture, highlights a significant expansion in the sector, driven by large-scale shows in stadiums, arenas, and historical sites.

A major milestone was reached as direct audience spending exceeded 1 billion euros for the first time, marking a 21 percent increase compared to 2024. While box office revenue grew by 17.5 percent, the broader economic effect includes significant contributions from transportation, hospitality, catering, security, and technology.

The sector also acted as a major driver for tourism, generating over 11 million overnight stays across the country. Despite challenges such as rising ticket prices, booking fees, and increased hotel rates during major events, attendance rose by 9.3 percent. AssoConcerti member companies, which represent 5 percent of national events, accounted for 43 percent of total attendees and 69 percent of audience spending.
