Italy lottery win sparks legal battle over 101 million euro jackpot

A legal dispute has emerged in Italy following a 101 million euro Superenalotto win. A 40-year-old aesthetician from Lucca reportedly won the jackpot in Naples in May 2024 but did not disclose the windfall to his partner, a banker from Bassano del Grappa.

The partner, with whom the man had been in a civil union since 2021, reportedly became suspicious due to lifestyle changes. Following a private investigation that uncovered luxury vehicle purchases and real estate acquisitions, the aesthetician allegedly confessed to the win.

Legal representatives for the banker have issued a formal demand. They are seeking either a monthly allowance of 6,000 euros or a one-time lump sum payment of 40 million euros, based on legal interpretations regarding shared assets and the relationship.
