Italy man exposed for running fake ancient amphitheater tour

A man operating under the pseudonym Franco von Rosenfranz has been exposed for running a fraudulent tour business at a fake ancient amphitheater near Arcugnano, Italy. For two years, the individual, identified as Malosso, charged tourists 12 euros per person to tour the site, which he had actually constructed himself.

Malosso created a complete legend around the non-existent archaeological site to deceive visitors. Following the discovery of the hoax, his appeal was rejected, and he now faces several years in prison. The situation is complicated by the fact that the fake structure was built within a nature reserve. Authorities face challenges regarding the removal of the site, as demolition and land restoration would incur significant costs that no one is currently willing to cover.
