Italy: Man sentenced for attempted extortion and theft

A 24-year-old Pakistani national residing in Introdacqua has accepted a plea bargain resulting in a sentence of one year and three months of imprisonment. The charges include attempted extortion and receiving stolen goods.

The incident occurred on July 5, when the individual stole a handbag from a young woman after spending time with her. He subsequently sent a message demanding 100 euros to return the item. Following instructions from emergency services, the victim met the suspect at a designated location, where Carabinieri officers were waiting to arrest him in flagrante delicto.
