Italy manages bovine and buffalo brucellosis through regional cluster updates

In the Caserta region of Italy, the Ministry of Health has issued a favorable opinion regarding the removal of Grazzanise from the bovine and buffalo brucellosis cluster area. This decision follows an epidemiological improvement verified by the National Reference Center for Brucellosis at the Experimental Zooprophylactic Institute of Abruzzo and Molise. Grazzanise will transition to an epidemiological attention area, where controls will be adjusted based on risk factors and farm density.

In Sicily, local authorities in San Mauro Castelverde are organizing an information session to address brucellosis and cluster zones. The meeting, promoted by the Municipality of San Mauro Castelverde and the ASP of Palermo Veterinary Service, aims to clarify regulations, control measures, and biosecurity practices for livestock farmers to protect animal health and public safety.
