Italy marks 'Tempo del Creato' with environmental and water sustainability initiatives

In observance of the 2026 'Tempo del Creato' (Time of Creation), various initiatives in Italy are focusing on environmental stewardship and water sustainability.

In Milan, Archbishop Mario Delpini visited the Nosedo water treatment plant, managed by MM Spa. The visit highlighted the facility's role in the circular economy; since May, the plant has provided 36.7 million cubic meters of water for irrigation. Together with the San Rocco plant, over 71 million cubic meters of water are made available for agricultural use in areas such as the Parco Sud.

In Piazza Armerina, a World Day of Creation event is scheduled for October 2, 2026. The program aims to raise environmental awareness among younger generations through school-led projects, institutional speeches, and musical performances. The event will include student presentations on sustainability and conclude in the Giardino Garibaldi.
