Italy Ministry of Education reviews teacher recruitment scoring
The Italian Ministry of Education and Merit is reviewing the scoring criteria used to evaluate qualifications in upcoming teacher recruitment competitions. The proposed changes aim to create a more consistent evaluation system by adjusting how professional experience, teaching certifications, specializations, foreign qualifications, and language certifications are weighted.
Key aspects of the draft include potentially increasing the value of professional service experience to benefit teachers with years of substitute work. Additionally, specializations obtained through new INDIRE courses would be equated to the TFA (Specialization Course in Didactic Support) in terms of points.
These modifications will not have retroactive effect; they will only apply to future recruitment procedures announced after the new decree is issued. Current rankings and previously announced competitions will remain unaffected by these changes.
