Italy Ministry of Infrastructure approves funding for religious heritage and Catania metro project

The Italian Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport (MIT) has announced significant funding allocations for heritage preservation and regional transit infrastructure.

In Corleto Monforte, the ministry has allocated approximately 87,930 euros for the restoration and maintenance of the Chiesa della Madonna del Rosario. This project, part of a 6-million-euro national program for religious heritage, will focus on structural repairs, roof replacement, and plaster restoration to ensure the building's conservation.

Additionally, the MIT technical committee has granted final approval for the executive project of the Monte Po-Misterbianco Centro section of the Catania Metropolitan Railway. This infrastructure project, valued at approximately 155 million euros, aims to improve regional mobility. Local officials have expressed intentions to begin construction by the end of the year to secure the necessary financing.
