The Italian Ministry of Labour and Social Policies has announced significant updates to the Siisl platform. Starting December 1, companies applying for national or European contribution relief must include a vacancy number in their communications. Andrea Piscopo, Director General for Innovation, stated that the platform will also introduce new features such as contribution simulators, mass uploading capabilities for mandatory communications, and digital safety badges for construction workers. Additionally, the system will integrate data for workers trained abroad to facilitate their employment in Italy.

In Calabria, the labor market is showing notable shifts. Reports indicate a 21.7% increase in self-employed workers between 2022 and the first half of 2026, a trend that has significantly contributed to regional employment growth. While the rise in independent work includes high-level professional and scientific sectors, structural challenges remain, as the regional employment rate continues to lag behind the national average.

Nationally, employment data shows a steady increase, with total employees reaching 24.4 million in the second quarter of 2026. There is a growing trend of workers aged 50 to 64, who now make up approximately 39% of the workforce. Stable employment is also rising, evidenced by an increase in permanent contracts.
