Italy mobilizes for Palestine through political motions and public protests
Various political and social actions are being organized in Italy regarding the conflict in Gaza. In Sicily, M5S regional deputy Stefania Campo has filed a motion with the Sicilian Regional Assembly. The motion calls on regional authorities to take a clear stance against military operations and settler raids, while advocating for the recognition of the State of Palestine and the immediate delivery of humanitarian aid.
In Palermo, eight local schools have organized a demonstration for October 2 to mark the International Day of Non-Violence. The event will feature a 70-meter shroud inscribed with the names of more than 18,000 children killed in Gaza. The shroud was created by students from the Giorgio La Pira Institute in Pozzallo.
Additionally, a public assembly is planned for October 10 at Sapienza University of Rome. This meeting aims to mobilize national support for Palestinian liberation and to protest Italian military complicity in the ongoing conflict.
