Two Italian cyclists die after incidents in Osnago and Fontana Liri

On 16 June, 29‑year‑old cyclist Niccolò Armanasco suffered a sudden illness while riding along the SP342dir near the Osnago‑Lomagna border. He fell on a viaduct, received cardiopulmonary resuscitation from a passerby who had first‑aid training, but despite hospitalisation in Bergamo he died later, prompting thanks from his friends to the rescuer.

On 4 July 2026, 34‑year‑old Davide Migliorelli, who had been in a coma for two years after a serious bicycle‑car collision on a road between Isola del Liri and Arce in 2024, died at the San Raffaele hospital in Cassino. The local community of Fontana Liri expressed deep shock and mourning, with funerary rites held at Santa Barbara church.
