Italy national rugby team begins training for Nations Championship

The Italian men's national rugby team has commenced its training camp in Padova at the Valsugana Rugby and Petrarca facilities. The squad is preparing for the Nations Championship Northern Series, which begins on November 7 at Allianz Stadium in Turin against South Africa.

The team faces several roster challenges due to injuries and absences. Mirco Spagnolo, captain Michele Lamaro, and Nacho Brex are unavailable, joining Tommaso Allan, who remains in rehabilitation. Additionally, Ange Capuozzo will be absent for family reasons.

To bolster the squad, Ion Neculai, Ivan Nemer, and Federico Zanandrea have been called up. Luca De Novellis and Jaheim Wilson from the Ivan Francescato National Academy have also been invited to the seasonal training camp. Following the match against South Africa, Italy is scheduled to face Argentina and Fiji during the November international window.
