Italy national team prepares for Nations League with potential new call-ups

Italy head coach Roberto Mancini is expected to introduce several new faces to the national squad during the upcoming Nations League fixtures. The upcoming international break features a demanding schedule, beginning with a match against Belgium in Rome on September 25, followed by trips to face Turkey on September 28 and France on October 2, and a final home match against Turkey on October 5.

To support the Italy Under-21 side during their Olympic play-offs, Mancini has reportedly agreed not to select the established core of the U-21 squad, instead focusing on emerging talents from club football. Potential new call-ups include Milan midfielder Alphadjo Cisse, Mattia Liberali of Como, Nicolò Tresoldi of Bruges, and Alessandro Romano of Cagliari.

Defensive options being considered include Lorenzo Bernasconi of Atalanta and Emanuele Lulli of Roma. Established players such as Gianluigi Donnarumma, Alessandro Bastoni, and Riccardo Calafiori are expected to remain central to the squad as Mancini implements his new technical direction.
