Italy: New developments in Ragusa disappearance and fatal Partinico gas poisoning

New developments have emerged in the long-running disappearance of Roberta Ragusa, who vanished in 2012 in Gello. Recent testimony suggests that her husband, Antonio Logli—who was convicted of voluntary homicide and concealing a corpse but remains under house arrest—and his father may have entered a specific plot of land near their home at the time of her disappearance. Additionally, unpublished diary entries from Ragusa have surfaced, detailing a tormented marriage and the profound grief of losing a child during pregnancy.

In a separate tragic incident in Partinico, a mother and son, Rosalia La Manna and Vincenzo Troia, died due to suspected gas poisoning. The victims were found in a garage containing underground cisterns used to store olive harvesting nets. Authorities believe the decomposing nets produced a buildup of carbon dioxide, which proved fatal when the son entered the cistern to retrieve equipment and the mother subsequently attempted to rescue him.
