Italy: New youth movement ‘17 Tetori’ establishes non-hierarchical structure
The ‘17 Tetori Movement’ (M1710) has released its first manifesto in Italy, formalizing a group that emerged from youth protests on October 17. The movement describes itself as a leaderless and non-hierarchical organization, intentionally lacking a president, headquarters, or formal membership cards to prevent control by any single individual or group.
In its manifesto, M1710 expresses deep distrust toward the government and traditional institutions, accusing them of restricting the right to protest and responding to youth grievances with punitive measures. The group also rejects traditional political parties and trade unions, viewing them as part of the existing system.
The movement raised concerns regarding increased repression of protesters, citing the identification of activists, legal proceedings, and infiltration. It further alleged that attacks by fascist groups are being tolerated or covered up by authorities. M1710 claims its decentralized structure is a political choice designed to make the movement more difficult to dismantle.
