Italy opens applications for 2027 Labor Merit Star

The Italian Ministry of Labour and Social Policies has announced the application procedures for the 2027 “Stella al merito del lavoro” (Star of Merit for Labour) honors. These awards, established by Law No. 143 of February 5, 1992, are traditionally presented on May 1st.

Applications for the 2027 cycle must be submitted by October 30, 2026. Submissions can be made by companies, trade unions, welfare organizations, or the workers themselves. Applications should be directed to the Interregional Labour Directorates or the Territorial Labour Inspectorates located in regional capitals.

For Italian workers residing abroad, proposals must be submitted through the relevant diplomatic representation or consular office. Required documentation includes self-certifications of birth and Italian citizenship, service records, certificates of professionalism and conduct, a curriculum vitae, contact information, and an updated INPS social security statement.
