Italy opens CDP development finance office in Côte d’Ivoire
Italy’s development finance institution, Cassa Depositi e Prestiti (CDP), is opening a permanent office in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire. This move is part of CDP’s 2025-2027 international expansion strategy and aims to facilitate the implementation of the Mattei Plan for Africa.
The Abidjan office will serve to bring decision-making tools closer to local projects, focusing on sectors such as agriculture, health, food security, infrastructure, water, energy, and vocational training. This follows an announcement in February 2026 regarding €639 million in Mattei Plan financing for Côte d’Ivoire.
Key ongoing or planned initiatives include the $344.5 million North-East Agro-Industrial Hub and a planned €55 million health financing package. The establishment of this office follows similar expansions in Cairo and Rabat, with plans for a future presence in Nairobi, Kenya.
