Italy opens mini call for interprovincial special education teaching roles

The ‘mini call veloce’ procedure for interprovincial special education teaching roles for the 2026/2027 school year has commenced. Eligible teachers in the first tier of the GPS (Graduatorie Provinciali per le Supplenze) can submit applications from August 14 at 14:00 until August 19 at 12:00.

Currently, vacancies are limited to five regions. In Emilia-Romagna, 45 positions are available, including 42 in Piacenza and 3 in Reggio Emilia. Friuli-Venezia Giulia reports 67 positions, primarily for primary schools, distributed across Gorizia, Pordenone, Trieste, and Udine. Liguria shows significant availability, including 169 positions in Genoa and various roles in Imperia and Savona. Lombardia also shows expanding availability, particularly in primary education.

This recruitment cycle follows new regulations introduced by Decree 45 of 2025, which established regional lists to manage teacher placements. Experts are monitoring how these new regional lists will impact the percentage of extraordinary role assignments for first-tier GPS teachers compared to previous years.
