Italy opens new A4 highway service areas in Roncade and Fratta

On 24 July 2026 Italy inaugurated the Roncade Nord service area on the A4 Venezia‑Trieste stretch. Managed by the Sarni group, the €5 million facility offers 158 parking stalls – 100 for light vehicles, 54 for heavy trucks and buses, plus four spaces for drivers with reduced mobility. The single‑storey building includes a market, a restaurant with about 80 seats, restrooms, a family room, and a dedicated truck‑driver lounge with showers. Photovoltaic panels on the roof generate roughly 95 kW of power.

Earlier in the year the Autostrade Alto Adriatico opened two additional rest stops between Latisana and Portogruaro – Fratta Nord and Fratta Sud. The €18.8 million project adds 161 heavy‑vehicle stalls (107 at Fratta Nord, 54 at Fratta Sud) equipped with sanitary facilities, self‑service laundry, video surveillance, and variable‑message signs that inform drivers of space availability. Both projects form part of a €27 million programme to modernise service areas on the A4, aiming to improve comfort, safety and environmental standards for motorists, families and freight operators.
