Italy orders deportation of immigrant after flag desecration

The Italian government has ordered the expulsion of an undocumented immigrant following an incident in Florence where the individual tore down and desecrated an Italian flag. Interior Minister Matteo Piantedosi confirmed the incident after video footage of the act was released.

Authorities identified the individual as being in the country illegally. He has been transferred to a Repatriation Center (CPR) to await the completion of administrative procedures for his deportation. While the man's nationality has not yet been disclosed, the Ministry of the Interior emphasized that the action serves to uphold respect for national symbols and the democratic values they represent.
