Italy plans over 539,000 new jobs for October 2026
Italian companies plan to increase hiring by 3.7 percent compared to the previous year, with over 539,000 new positions projected for October 2026. According to research by Unioncamere and the Ministry of Labour and Social Policies, total planned employment for the period of October to December reaches approximately 1.35 million.
The service sector accounts for 65.3 percent of these opportunities, with significant demand in tourism, hospitality, and catering. Industry, including construction, represents 26.1 percent, while agriculture and other primary activities make up the remaining 8.6 percent. Specific high-demand roles include hospitality staff, salespersons, and delivery workers.
In the Veneto region specifically, demand has risen by 4.6 percent, with 46,520 new jobs planned. Employers in this area are seeking skilled workers in manufacturing, crafts, and technical trades, such as mechanics and installers.
Despite the growth, a significant labor shortage persists. Employers expect difficulties in filling 43.6 percent of planned positions nationwide due to a lack of candidates or mismatched qualifications. In Veneto, over 50 percent of sought profiles were reported as difficult to find.
