Italy police chase two illegal high‑speed escape incidents
In the Rodigino area of the province of Rovigo, a 16‑year‑old boy fled in his father's car after Carabinieri ordered him to stop. He accelerated, prompting a 25‑kilometre pursuit that ended in Bergantino. Police identified the driver as a minor without a licence and charged him with resistance to public officials and driving without a licence.
In Cologno Monzese, a 36‑year‑old man was stopped after a high‑speed chase on a stolen motorcycle. The pursuit ended on Viale Romagna, where he was arrested. He was found in possession of a synthetic drug (MDPV) for personal use and was cited under the 2026 Decree Sicurezza, which classifies dangerous police evasion as a felony punishable by up to five years in prison, licence suspension and vehicle confiscation.
