Italy police forces accept new 2025-27 salary contract

A new collective bargaining agreement for Italy’s security forces covering the 2025‑2027 triennium was signed on 15 July 2026. The pact provides gross monthly salary rises ranging from about €145 for agents to over €207 for senior ranks, with estimated net increases of roughly €90‑€120 after taxes and contributions. The agreement also updates several contractual provisions affecting work and family life.

The police union SILP‑CGIL, however, denounced the deal as inadequate and forced, warning that refusal to sign would have meant loss of representation in second‑level bargaining. Union figures calculate a real net wage gain of only about 4.6%, translating to a loss of purchasing power of roughly €1,000 per officer, and criticize the continued prohibition of strike rights for uniformed workers.
