Italy political polls show center-right coalition falling below 41%
Recent political polling in Italy indicates a shift in the domestic landscape, with the center-right coalition falling below 41% for the first time this legislature. The coalition, comprising Fratelli d’Italia, Forza Italia, Lega, and Noi Moderati, stands at 40.7%. In contrast, the ‘broad field’ (campo largo) alliance—including the Partito Democratico, Movimento 5 Stelle, Alleanza Verdi e Sinistra, Italia Viva, and +Europa—reaches 43.8%, providing a theoretical 3.1-point advantage.
Fratelli d’Italia remains the leading individual party at 26.6%. The Movimento 5 Stelle has seen significant growth, rising to 12.5%. A notable development is the rise of Futuro Nazionale, led by Roberto Vannacci, which has reached 7.7%, surpassing Forza Italia (7.4%) for the first time. While Futuro Nazionale remains outside the current majority perimeter, its growing consensus is viewed as a decisive factor in the broader conservative landscape.
These shifts reflect a wider European trend toward political polarization. As centrist options diminish, voters are increasingly gravitating toward more radical positions on both the right and the left, driven by social discontent and issues such as migration and economic inequality.
