Italy prepares for Nations Championship matches against South Africa, Argentina, and Fiji

The Italian national rugby team is preparing for the second phase of the 2026 Nations Championship, a tournament featuring European teams hosting Southern Hemisphere opponents. Italy is scheduled to face South Africa on November 7 in Turin, followed by Argentina on November 14, and Fiji on November 21.

Roberto Santamaria, the assistant coach for the forwards, noted that facing Tier 1 teams in consecutive matches presents a significant challenge, particularly regarding the strength of the South African scrum. He emphasized the importance of preparation and the ability of players to adapt quickly to the national team environment despite limited training time compared to club rugby.

All of Italy's matches will be broadcast on Sky Sport and NOW, with free-to-air coverage available on TV8. Following the group stage, teams will compete for placement in finals held at Twickenham between November 27 and 29.
