Italy promotes sustainable mobility through Bike2Work initiatives

Various Italian institutions are participating in the European Mobility Week by promoting cycling initiatives on September 18, 2026.

In Pisa, the second edition of Bike2Work will feature a collective ride involving the University of Pisa, Scuola Normale Superiore, Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna, CNR, and INFN. Accompanied by FIAB Pisa volunteers, participants will ride through the city's historic centers and Lungarni, aiming to encourage sustainable commuting for students and workers.

In Lodi, the ASST (Local Health Authority) is hosting a “Bike to Work” challenge for its employees. To promote health and environmental sustainability, the organization has launched a photo contest where staff members who cycle to one of the four hospital facilities can enter a drawing to win one of eight prizes.
