Italy qualifies for WBSC Premier12 2027

The Italian national baseball team has secured qualification for the WBSC Premier12 2027 following a 5-0 victory over Germany. This achievement marks a significant milestone in the team's progression toward the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games, as the tournament serves as a primary pathway for European and Oceanian teams to qualify for the Olympics.

Pitcher Giacomo Taschin delivered a standout performance in his major national team debut, pitching four innings with seven strikeouts and zero walks. Federal President Mazzieri noted that the qualification follows a successful period for the program, which included winning the Haarlem Baseball Week by defeating the Netherlands. Mazzieri credited manager Francisco Cervelli and his technical staff for revitalizing the team environment and driving these recent competitive successes.
