Italy railway services disrupted by landslide and electrical cable incident
Severe weather and technical failures have caused significant railway disruptions in Italy. On the Brenner line, a landslide triggered by intense storms has halted train traffic between Colle Isarco and Fleres. Trenitalia reported that Intercity and regional services are facing cancellations and route limitations, with replacement bus services being organized while technicians assess the tracks.
In a separate incident near Forlì on the Bologna-Ancona line, an ÖBB train was forced to stop after striking a detached electrical cable. Approximately 250 passengers were safely evacuated from the train by firefighters and civil protection teams. The passengers, including many foreign travelers, were transported to Forlì station via bus. No injuries were reported during the evacuation.
