Italy ranked as country with most aggressive drivers in global survey
A global survey conducted by the car rental platform DiscoverCars.com has identified Italy as the country with the most aggressive drivers. Approximately 23% of respondents reported witnessing unpredictable or reckless driving behavior in Italy.
The United Kingdom ranked second, with 11% of drivers reporting aggressive behavior, with London specifically noted as a frequent location for such incidents. The United States followed in third place at 9%, while France and Australia both recorded 5%. Spain and Turkey tied for fifth place with 4%.
Regarding specific driving habits, the most frustrating behavior reported was the failure to use turn signals (56%), followed by tailgating (46%), driving slowly in the overtaking lane (43%), and sudden braking (20%).
In contrast to driving aggression, the survey also measured perceived politeness. Japan was ranked as the most polite nation, followed by Canada and the United Kingdom. Conversely, Italy ranked poorly in general manners, placing 24th out of 25 countries surveyed.
