Italy recalls Noberasco organic dried figs over excess ochratoxin A

The Italian food producer Noberasco Spa has issued a precautionary recall of a specific lot of its organic dried figs (lot L6075A, 200‑gram packs) because laboratory tests showed levels of ochratoxin A (OTA) above the legal limit. The affected packages carry a minimum shelf‑life date of 31 March 2027. Consumers are instructed to check the lot number on the label, avoid consuming the product, keep the packaging for verification and return the items to the point of sale.

The recall was announced through a notice from the Ministry of Health, which also listed separate recalls of fresh caciocavallo and caciotta cheeses contaminated with Escherichia coli. The ministry’s guidance applies to the figs as well, urging shoppers to follow the producer’s safety instructions.

The limited scope of the recall concerns only the identified lot; other Noberasco dried‑fig packages with different lot numbers or expiration dates are not affected.
